A slice of Devon heavenWe had a family break staying in Copper Kettle Cottage. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Three generations enjoyed all that Down Farm had to offer and we are already booking up to go back next year. Down Farm is the perfect location to explore all that beautiful North Devon has to offer and Amanda and Adrian are the perfect hosts - welcoming, friendly and kind - the friends you never knew you had. There is so much to do and love here that we are going to stay for longer next time. None of us wanted to leave! Thank you ‘Love North Devon’ for our wonderful memories.
copper kettle cottageWe had a fabulous time at Down Farm, staying in Copper kettle cottage. Wonderful welcome from Amanda along with delicious cream tea and eggs supplied. Amazing comfortable beds and cosy all round with the wood burner lit. Our children loved feeding the hens and collecting the eggs. We had some great walks around the farm and fun climbing into the tree house. A fantastic place to stay.
It was with great excitement that we arrived at Down Farm, the homestead for Love North Devon holiday lets. A very warm welcome awaited us from Mandy and Adrian, and of course Doris the duck and all the cats we ‘checked’ into the barn which is decorated to a very high spec, with wi-fi (which we didn’t need) and a lovely wood burner. Set in 53 acres of stunning countryside with woodlands and a lake, it’s clear to see how aptly named Down Farm is because we Love North Devon. This should definitely be on your list of places to stay in England.
Relaxing Peaceful Haven,Had a lovely stay again at Down Farm. This time we stayed in the cottage. Comfortable and welcoming feel inside. Mega mega comfy bed. Great shower, which was very welcome after a cold day on the beach. Wood burner lit to add an extra cosy touch in the evening. Slept like a dream. I have fallen in love with their chickens/duck. I couldn’t resist feeding them, letting them out and putting them away. I felt like the Pied Piper of Brayford. Thanks Amanda such a treat, I really enjoyed that and will be getting my own feathered ladies in the future. Definitely be back. See you both soon x
Superb!Having a weekend off is a rear occasion but spending a very long weekend in North Devon was top of the list! With bags packed and a sense of adventure in our back pockets Love North Devon started our adventure and expectations at a high. With a fabulous setting warm welcome and wonderful cottage fire all lit on our arrival this really set the scene for the weekend. Amanda & Adrian were amazing hostesses and every need was catered for. The cottage was superb clean and faultless including everything you could possibly need. The setting was picturesque and combined with a cold but summer sun we could explore the area including the lake house and woodland walks. An added bonus was feeding the chickens and Doris the Duck! Lots of things to do and everything is within a simple drive. A relaxing weekend was just what was needed to recharge the batteries and all within a very reasonable budget.
Perfect relaxing weekendI visited in December with a friend and 3 teenage girls for a wonderful weekend break. We were warmly welcomed by Amanda who showed us around and catered for our every need. The girls had great fun on the lake in the rowing boat, lighting fires and toasting marshmallows and exploring the treehouse and the beautiful countryside that swept around the cottages. We went to the SQ Bar and restaurant in nearby Braunton, the food and cocktails were second to none. The cottage was spotless, immaculate and beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly need, the beds were comfy, shower was massive and powerful and the cottage was warm and cosy.Thank you Amanda and Adrian, I will definitely be back again with my family and children to experience the local beaches, although I doubt that they will want to leave the site with so much to do.
Fantastic stay in a comfortable houseThe 5 of us (my husband, my mother, my 2 small sons and I) enjoyed a wonderful stay at Ladybird Cottage during the October half term. The owners; Amanda and Adrian, are warm and friendly hosts who were always around when we needed something but left us to it when we didn’t. The accommodation itself is beautifully finished with all the bits and pieces that you could need. How refreshing to have a sharp knife and scissors in the kitchen, honestly the first self-catering unit we’ve come across to date! The convenience of being able to have Tesco deliver an order also made things so much easier. The farm is set in a beautiful landscape and it was great to enjoy a daily wander around- the Tree house was a winner with the kids and I can imagine that the lake would be great fun in the warmer months. There’s even a slide into the lake! Unfortunately my youngest was sick while we were there but luckily there was loads to keep him busy on the farm. The box of toys was a wonderful surprise. Amanda also went out of her way to help, even asking her son to bring back medicine for us from town. Both boys loved their daily jobs of chicken monitors and especially enjoyed collecting their own eggs and eating them for lunch. They also had great fun collecting the firewood with Daddy and making a fire for us to cuddle around in the lounge. Nearby attractions include Woolacombe beach (about 30 min drive) where we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day making sandcastles and eating ice creams. The nearby parking is convenient and the sausage rolls from the little shop extremely tasty! They even serve gluten free scones in the restaurant above! All in all we all had a fantastic time here and would recommend a stay here to anyone looking for a relaxing break away from it all.
